About my Company...

Green-Eyed Girl Productions is a multi-faceted organization that offers a variety of services. I plan all sorts of events from Birthday parties to, of course, Weddings. I strive to provide you with an event that reflects your personal style and own creative designs without all of the time, stress, shopping and personal legwork. Unlike many other event planners, I also offer my own rental items, such as tables, chairs, linens and many other useful amenities.  By having these rentals available to you through my services I am able to offer them at rates lower than other rental companies, as well as eliminate another possible vendor to keep in touch with throughout the planning schedule. My goal is to help you in any way that I can, and plan the event of your dreams the easiest way possible, all the while alleviating stress. Let me worry about the networking, micro-managing and coordinating.

You should be celebrating!

A brief background on Kandice:

I have been planning and coordinating large events and weddings, freelance, for the past 7 years. Most of my background is in large corporate events, fundraisers, pageants, and sports tournaments.

You know the kid who gets involved with every function in high school; homecoming, fundraiser carnivals, pageants, that kid was me! In college I played volleyball and was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Council where we planned large events for hundreds of people (mostly children) in Eugene. Throughout that time I made great connections with many fantastic Event Professionals. Then, from 2005-2007 I was in, and coordinated weddings for friends and family, and began assisting friends of friends with their weddings by referral from 2007-2009.

At the UO I acquired 3 degrees in Education, and with no teaching jobs in the Willamette Valley my family encouraged me to follow this path, which is where they all know I truly belong. I am more appreciative than words can express to my family for their time, investments, and volunteer efforts that have made GEG what it is today. Special thanks to my mother, Patty, who made our initial investments with tables and chairs, and to my Uncle Bob who so graciously designed my logo.

The Green-Eyed Girl name became public on February 4th, 2009 and has been involved with well over 50 events since then. Granted, not all of our weddings/events require full coordination, as we have an extensive rental inventory that many people take full advantage of without any planning needs. You can rent 1 chair if that is all you need, though nobody has asked for that yet… J I am currently the only coordinator, certified by the American Association of Wedding Professionals in wedding coordinating. However, when I refer to GEG as a whole I use “we” in reference to the many volunteers and family members who assist me daily as well as at an event.

Ways in which we are GREEN:

“It ain’t easy being green…” – Kermit the Frog

Though we are not entirely a GREEN company, we try our hardest to put forth every effort:

Earth Friendly as a Company: Our linens are washed in cold water with SA8 Bioquest detergents, and air dried using High Efficiency machines.  We are also beginning to sew our own overlays using fabrics from local businesses, in addition to re-usable materials: recycled clothing, blankets, drapes, burlap, and sheets.

I love networking with Event Professionals who appreciate the importance of being Green; caterers who use local growers and farmers, bridal salons who rent gowns and reuse gently loved accessories, and many others!

Recycle: It is not a requirement if you work with us, but we encourage our clients to have a Recycling Station at their wedding if they have cans, water bottles, paper plates, etc. We also advise clients to consider using recycled materials on their Big Day. Our website offers a great variety of links & vendors who offer recycled paper products and favors!

Reduce: Eliminating waste is always the best way to go. We encourage a lower percentage of purchasing with regard to favors and decorations that are either left over or thrown away after the wedding. If you have anything left over from your wedding, please don’t throw it away! I’ve been collecting random assortments of favor boxes, etc to reuse at smaller events, just to reduce waste! We also encourage renting linen napkins and glassware, as cocktail napkins and plastic cups produce such a large pile of refuse.

Reuse: I love ECLECTIC events! There are so many great things to use in your event that are just lying around your house or garage! Baskets, vases, rocks, tree branches, and more! Instead of running to the store, consider a walk through your own home; or better yet, everyone else’s too. Find common theme items from your parents’ homes, or use items from a friend’s wedding. They will love seeing them on the Big Day and feel like they really helped you, because they did. If you must purchase new things for your wedding, try to make them reusable later: centerpieces you can take home (or send home with family) that can be planted in the back yard. Give favors that are planted or edible.

Every little bit helps and we appreciate your efforts!

Thank you for your consideration of Green-Eyed Girl Productions!
