Planning Tip of the month:    September
PRACTICE bustling your dress! Have your Maid of Honor over one night, along with other bridesmaids if possible, and let them practice. If possible, get some of those tiny colored safety pins and color code which hoop goes with which button. It gets very confusion under there! You don't want your guest, photographer, or HUSBAND waiting on you for 20 minutes just to be bustled.

Planning Tip of the month:     August

Prior to your big day, sort out all of your vendor payments that need to be made on the day of the wedding. Place each one in it's own envelope with the vendor's name on the front and the amount owed in the corner. Here's the catch: Also include a handwritten thank you note to that vendor (remember to mention how excited you are to tell your friends about them). Receiving this beforehand will give them a little extra incentive to do a great job!

Planning Tip of the month:     July
Bring 2 pairs of shoes to your reception site the day of your wedding, before the guests start arriving. Put one pair in the kitchen freezer while you wear the other through the ceremony. After the ceremony and perhaps part way through the reception, sneak back there and switch shoes! Your feet will thank you!

Planning Tip of the month:     June
As your big day approaches gather all the attendants together for a dinner and go over what their exact responsibilities will be on that day from morning to evening. If you really want to over achieve you can make them lists and schedules. For example, the Best Man is responsible for paying all of the vendors, and the Maid of Honor should be keeping track of all important car keys.

Planning Tip of the month:     May
May is the month of STARTS for summer weddings:
Start breaking in your shoes, start tanning, start whitening your teeth, start practicing your first dance, start practicing your hair style, start playing around with make-up, start going to the gym, start addressing Thank You envelopes! If you forget to do this early you'll be very stressed later.

Planning Tip of the month:     April
Planning an event outdoors, in the country, in June, July or August? Be sure to check with local farmers about their FIELD BURNING schedules! You'll want the air to be clear on your special day.

Planning Tip of the month:   March

In addition to registering for items you want in your home, consider some things you might need on the Big Day or your honeymoon: a 2 gallon recycled glass beverage dispensor, tiki torches, patio heaters, snorkel & fins, you name it!

Planning Tip of the month:   February

Most photographers/videographers are hired on an hourly basis. Consider scheduling major events: First Dance, cake cutting, etc. early in the evening so that the photo/video guy isn't hanging around until the end of the party on your dime!

Planning Tip of the month:   January

For all Save the Date & Invitation mailing, type addresses up and print them on clear mailing labels. They look professional and you'll save a lot of time not having to hand write each one. Then, reprint the same list and use it to mail your Thank You notes!

Planning Tip of the month:   December

Along with a beautiful white natural backdrop and holiday comfort, with a December wedding comes ice. Be sure to plan accordingly. Prepare for icing walkways, driveways, windshields, frozen water in outdoor florals, and other potential hangups due to weather. Ask your venue what their safety plans are for de-icing outdoor paths, stairs, parking lots, etc. And make sure they/you have liability insurance to cover any weather related accidents!

Planning Tip of the month:    November
Planning a winter wedding in Oregon? Keep guests warm by offering a soup course for dinner, hot chocolate and coffee, or instead of service a signature cocktail, serve your signature latte or mocha instead! Hire a Barista to go with your Bartender.

Planning Tip of the month:    October
October is a wonderful month to utilize the natural colors of Fall for your wedding. When talking with your florist, don't be afraid to suggest bringing in colorful leaves, branches, or other natural elements into your centerpieces. Especially since fall weddings tend to be brought indoors, it is nice to have those outdoor colors inside. Plus, they're free!
